SAPS Ballistics Expert To Testify At Madlanga Commission Over Engineer’s Murder Case

A forensic ballistics specialist from the South African Police Service (SAPS) is expected to appear before the Madlanga Commission at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria on Monday morning.

The expert is set to take the stand at 09:30, as the Commission resumes its public hearings into alleged corruption, political interference, and criminal activity within South Africa’s justice system.

Their testimony is anticipated to centre on evidence linked to the killing of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart, who was reportedly murdered in what investigators suspect was a case of mistaken identity.

Forensic Testimony to Shed Light on Swart Murder Investigation

The upcoming appearance follows last week’s testimony from Witness B, who raised serious concerns about Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba’s decision to ease bail conditions for alleged crime-cartel member Katiso “KT” Molefe.

The Madlanga Commission, chaired by Justice Madlanga, is tasked with probing claims of political manipulation and corruption that may have compromised South Africa’s criminal justice system.

Public hearings are set to continue throughout the week, with additional witnesses expected to take the stand as the inquiry digs deeper into the alleged network of misconduct and influence within law enforcement and the judiciary.
