SANTACO Calls For Swift Police Probe After Four Killed In Browns Farm Taxi Shooting

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) in the Western Cape has called on police to urgently investigate a deadly taxi-related shooting in Hazeldene, near Browns Farm.

The appeal follows a violent incident on Tuesday in which four men were shot dead and two others wounded.

Police have launched an investigation into the attack, while the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

SANTACO said it would not speculate on the circumstances surrounding the incident while law enforcement authorities continue their probe.

SANTACO spokesperson Makhosandile Tumana said the organisation continues to advocate for peaceful conflict resolution within the taxi industry.

As investigations continue, SANTACO has appealed for calm among taxi operators and community members.

The organisation reiterated the importance of resolving disagreements through lawful and constructive engagement rather than violence.
