Rogue Police Officer Arrested For Murder And Housebreaking In Shocking North West Love Triangle

A serving police constable in North West has been arrested on charges of murder and housebreaking following a deadly incident in Phokeng.
Constable Kutlwano Joy Tshepe (29) was apprehended on Thursday evening, 26 February 2026, in Phokeng, after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and later fatally assaulting her boyfriend.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo, confirmed the arrest and welcomed the swift action taken by detectives.
Alleged Break-In and Dramatic Escape in Roma Section
According to allegations, Tshepe forced his way into his former partner’s residence in the Roma Section during the early hours of Thursday morning.
It is claimed he stole cash while the woman hid inside the house. She reportedly managed to escape through an open window and sought refuge at a nearby family member’s home.
The situation escalated shortly afterwards when the accused allegedly went to the home of the woman’s 33-year-old boyfriend.
Police say the 33-year-old man was assaulted and sustained multiple injuries, including a severe head wound.

Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMRS) declared him dead at the scene.
The matter is now under investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, the body responsible for probing cases involving police officers.
Police Officer’s Bail Application Pending
Tshepe made his first appearance before the Tlhabane Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 01 March 2026.
The court remanded him in custody until Monday, 09 March 2026, when he is expected to return for a formal bail application.
Major General Naidoo praised the vigilance of the Phokeng Detectives, stating that their swift response led to the arrest.
He added that the case should send a strong message to all SAPS employees involved in criminal activity that, if caught, they will face the full might of the law, including internal disciplinary processes.
