Robbers Steal R11,000  Empty Bank Account During  Home Invasion

A violent home invasion occurred in Osindisweni, KZN, on Friday when three armed robbers broke into the home of a 57-year-old plumber and his 48-year-old wife.

The suspects, who arrived unannounced, demanded the couple’s cellphones and their banking application passwords.

After gaining access, the robbers proceeded to transfer a total of R11,000 from the couple’s Nedbank and Capitec accounts.

Robbers Steal Electronics And Beer

In addition to clearing the victims’ bank accounts, the thieves stole various valuables.

Among the items taken were a 50-inch Samsung TV, two cases of Amstel beers, and two cellphones.

The thieves quickly loaded their loot into a black Mini Cooper, which sped off in an unknown direction, leaving the victims shaken and traumatized.

Victim Left Injured and Declines Medical Attention

Upon arrival, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers found the male victim bleeding from a head injury, sustained after being pistol-whipped by one of the suspects.

Paramedics treated the injury on-site, though the victim declined further medical assistance.

The couple, deeply distressed by the robbery, explained that the stolen funds were earmarked for a prayer gathering scheduled for the weekend.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspects or the vehicle used in the crime to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing as the perpetrators remain at large.
