Retired eThekwini Municipality Worker Shot Dead In Mt. Moriah Tuck Shop

A tragic shooting shook the Mt. Moriah community in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday when a retired eThekwini Municipality employee was killed inside his tuck shop. The man, who had been running the small business since his retirement, was shot at close range.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene and found the victim seated on a chair inside the shop. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was declared deceased by paramedics.
Gunman Escaped in White VW Polo
According to witnesses, the shooter arrived in a white VW Polo before entering the tuck shop. “He entered the tuck shop and assassinated the victim before fleeing in the getaway car,” a witness explained.
Investigators recovered three spent 9mm cartridges at the scene, pointing to a targeted attack. The suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting, SurgeZirc SA learned.

Authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident. While the motive remains unclear, police are following several leads to track down the suspect.
