Ransom Demand In Umlazi For Five-Year-Old Ntobeko Xaba After Suspected Abduction
Five-year-old Ntobeko Simphiwe Xaba, a Grade R learner at Isipingo Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal, has been missing since Friday, August 22, 2025.
He was last seen playing outside his home in Q Section, Umlazi, wearing a yellow track top and navy blue shorts.
According to witnesses, a neighbour was spotted with the child shortly before he disappeared. Although authorities have not confirmed this link, the neighbour has since fled the area and remains on the run.
Family Receives Disturbing Ransom Call
On Friday afternoon, Ntobeko’s mother received a call from an unidentified number demanding R50,000 for her son’s safe return.
The demand has left the family distraught as the search for the missing boy intensifies.

Authorities and community members are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Ntobeko. Anyone with information that may help in the investigation or lead to his safe return is urged to contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at 086 1234 333.
