President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his hope that newly crowned Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, will use her platform to advocate for women’s empowerment and the education of young people across the country.

The 24-year-old beauty queen was crowned during a dazzling ceremony at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria over the weekend, triumphing over finalists Luyanda Zuma and Karabo Mareka.

Mazaleni, who is currently pursuing a master’s degree in speech-language pathology at the University of Pretoria, has been vocal about her passion for promoting literacy and inspiring young South Africans to pursue education as a means of empowerment.
