Radio Star Felix Hlophe Breaks Down, Apologises After Viral Domestic Dispute Clip “I Messed Up”

Felix Hlophe has finally apologised — but only after being pulled off air.  The popular Gagasi FM radio personality has broken his silence following days of backlash over a viral clip allegedly showing him involved in a heated domestic dispute with his wife, Tracy Hlophe.

What’s raising eyebrows across Mzansi? Felix initially denied the incident, distancing himself from the viral video as it spread like wildfire on social media. However, things took a sharp turn after Gagasi FM temporarily removed him from the airwaves, prompting what many are calling a delayed apology.

Felix Hlophe Apology Comes After Viral Backlash

After being pulled off air, Felix took to his Facebook story with an emotional message, publicly admitting fault and expressing remorse.

“Friends, I’m still standing. Barely though. I messed up. Ngiyazisola. I’ll do better. Ngicela uxolo. Ey Kuningi. Nginamahloni. Ngiyaxolisa kunina nonke. I doubt I’ll ever be able to face you. Ngiphelelwe umhlaba.”

Translated, the message reads: “Friends, I’m still standing. Barely though. I messed up. I’m sorry. I’ll do better. I beg your pardon. I’m ashamed. I apologise to all of you. I doubt I’ll ever be able to face you. I’ve lost my world.”

Felix Hlophe’s Apology

The apology came after the viral clip and reports revealed Tracy and the couple’s children fled to a neighbour’s home, with Felix allegedly following them, leading to a tense confrontation. Tracy was reportedly heard crying during the exchange.

Denial, Suspension & Social Media Weighs In

The timeline has left social media shook. Many users are questioning why the apology only surfaced after Felix was taken off air, with critics accusing him of attempting damage control rather than taking immediate responsibility.

Others, however, argue that the radio star is human, overwhelmed, and deserves space to reflect and rebuild.

At this stage, Gagasi FM has not issued a detailed statement on whether Felix will return to his slot or face further consequences.

But, Mzansi isn’t done talking — and this story is still unfolding. Your turn: Was the apology genuine, or did it come too late? Let’s talk.
