Rachel Kolisi Bags Women Of Wonder Award For Social Justice Impact

Rachel Kolisi has been celebrated for her inspiring work in social justice and community upliftment. The philanthropist and co-founder of the Kolisi Foundation was awarded the Women of Wonder (WOW) Award at the 11th annual ceremony in Cape Town on 30 August.

The WOW Awards are a global celebration of extraordinary women who drive change through leadership, philanthropy, and social impact. Hosted in cities such as Johannesburg, Dubai, London, and Mauritius, the awards spotlight women whose influence extends across industries and borders.

Recognised for Her Fight Against Gender-Based Violence

Organisers described Rachel as “a dynamic and influential leader, recognised for her dedication to social justice, philanthropy, and community empowerment.”

Her efforts in tackling gender-based violence were a key factor in the honour. “Rachel’s focus on gender-based violence has led to the implementation of initiatives that provide support and resources to survivors while advocating for systemic change,” organisers said.

The Kolisi Foundation’s Lasting Impact

Rachel co-founded the Kolisi Foundation in 2021 alongside her former husband, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.

Under her leadership, the foundation has rolled out projects to combat gender-based violence, empower women and children, improve education and sports development, and strengthen food security in vulnerable communities.

Rachel took to social media to share her gratitude after receiving the award, writing, “So incredibly grateful to have received an award from @womenofwonder_aw / @panachewowawards. It was such a beautiful evening celebrating so many amazing people doing powerful work in SA.”

The evening’s theme, “diamonds and decadence,” set the stage for Rachel’s dazzling appearance. She stunned in pieces from Browns Jewellers, saying: “My @brownsjewellers family allowed me to wear some of their most celebrated pieces.”
