Queen Nandi Wants Season 2 — But Mzansi Says ‘We’ve Had Enough!’

Reality TV personality Nandipha “Queen Nandi” Mlombi is ready for round two of her controversial show Nandi & The Rev — but fans aren’t having it.

Taking to Facebook, Queen Nandi said she’s praying for another season, writing: “We’re praying for Season 2; you deserve the real me.”

However, not everyone agrees that “the real her” should return to television. Viewers are calling for the show to be cancelled, arguing that it glorifies gender-based violence (GBV) and portrays a deeply unhealthy marriage dynamic.

Mzansi Speaks: “Cancel This Toxic Mess!”

Social media is on fire with people voicing their disapproval.

One viewer, Cheesegirl, didn’t hold back, commenting: “Season 2 of sht. You’re so evil and heartless.”

Another, Nomalizwi Macingwane, wrote: “This show should not be renewed for a second season. It’s an ugly show and promotes immoralities to our kids.

Others echoed similar sentiments, like Asanda Qhezu, who said: “We don’t want Season 2; there’s nothing to learn from it.”

And it didn’t stop there — one TikTok user, Alicia, even said she’d filed a formal complaint to Mzansi Magic, claiming the show is “toxic” and “harmful to children.”

In her letter to the broadcaster, Alicia highlighted concerns over the wellbeing of the couple’s seven children, pointing out that the show airs scenes of marital conflict, alcohol use, and neglect during prime-time family viewing hours.

“While reality TV aims to portray real life, it should not do so at the expense of children’s dignity, safety, and emotional health,” she wrote.

She added that the public’s silence on the issue only fuels the problem:

“By not stopping this show, we’re enabling broken adults to be raised in broken homes.”

Mzansi Magic Responds to Queen Nandi’s Show Backlash

In response to the growing outrage, Mzansi magic has officially addressed the complaints.

Shirley Adonisi, M-Net’s director of local entertainment, said the network acknowledges viewer concerns about Episode 10 and assured fans that the family is receiving professional support.

“We understand that some content may have been distressing,” Adonisi said.
“We recognise that GBV remains a serious issue in South Africa and we remain committed to responsible storytelling.”

Mzansi Magic maintains that safeguarding protocols were followed and that the show was meant to reflect “real and complex family dynamics” — not to promote harm.

Still, the question remains: will Nandi & The Rev get its second act, or will Mzansi Magic pull the plug before more drama unfolds?
