It’s a showdown between beats and egos! Music producer and DJ Prince Kaybee has thrown serious shade at Andile Mpisane following the 24-year-old’s latest move — launching himself as a DJ. No more cash for Gucci!

Andile, known for wearing many hats — from musician and footballer to reality TV royalty — is now spinning decks as part of his ever-expanding brand. The Royal AM chairman recently trended after a social media user posted a video of him performing at an event, captioned:

“Father of four; Andile Mpisane (24) launches his new career as a DJ.”

The clip sent social media into a frenzy, with users divided over his new career move. But it was Prince Kaybee’s response that really turned up the heat.

His blunt statement immediately ignited debate online, with fans split between defending Andile and siding with Kaybee’s critique.

Some users accused the “Gugulethu” hitmaker of feeling threatened by Andile’s rise, while others echoed his frustration about the industry’s flood of influencers and celebrities dabbling in music.

One user fired back, “We know you’re afraid of the youngster. He’s serious competition.”

Another added, “Music and acting, so many untalented people are flooding these industries, especially TikTokers.”

Fans Divided Over Who’s Right

Not everyone agreed with Kaybee’s tough love. Some fans defended Andile, arguing that opportunities in the entertainment industry shouldn’t be gatekept.

One user wrote, “Let’s not gatekeep anything that seems to take every black child out of poverty, please. There’s enough pie for all of us.”

Another shared a more balanced take, saying, “I’m afraid I need to agree… no one who’s not funny can wake up tomorrow and decide to do stand-up comedy.”
