Pregnant Teenager And Boyfriend Survive Violent Attack In Temple Valley, KZN

A 16-year-old pregnant teenager and her 19-year-old boyfriend were violently attacked in Temple Valley, KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers were dispatched to Garland Street at around 14:41. Upon arrival, they found the young male bleeding from a hand wound while the teenager lay on the ground hyperventilating.

A butterfly knife was discovered near a bloodstain at the scene.

Suspect Tried to Stab Pregnant Teen

Investigations revealed that the couple had been confronted by a lone suspect who attempted to rob them. The suspect allegedly tried to stab the pregnant teenager, but her boyfriend grabbed the blade to protect her.

In the struggle, the boyfriend pulled out a butterfly knife and stabbed the attacker in the chest. The suspect then ran off empty-handed, disappearing into bushes along the railway line.

RUSA medics provided emergency treatment to both victims before contacting their families.

The teenager later confirmed she is pregnant. When Reaction Officers contacted her family, they were informed that she had been missing for the past two weeks.

Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident while the suspect remains at large.
