Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, recently expressed his disappointment in some of the party’s supporters who believed the accusations made by AfriForum against the EFF leadership.
The lobby group had accused the EFF of doctoring proof of payments, but this claim was later disproven by Standard Bank.
Standard Bank clarified that it was using an outdated template to print its receipts, which resulted in the names of individuals who had left the business still being displayed.
Despite this clarification, some EFF supporters had believed the allegations and even joined in attacking the party’s leadership.
Speaking at the Ground Forces Forum in Mpumalanga on Saturday, Malema addressed the issue, stating, “Maqabane arena a EFF [Our EFF comrades] were believing that lie and even joined in the attack of the leadership.
“A lie that was peddled by the most dangerous enemy of the EFF called AfriForum. How do you believe AfriForum over the leadership of your organization?”
Malema’s disappointment stems from the fact that the EFF’s own supporters would believe the claims made by AfriForum, a lobby group that has been consistently critical of the EFF’s agenda and policies.

He questioned how they could place more trust in AfriForum’s allegations than in the leadership of their own organisation.
This incident highlights the power of misinformation and the need for critical thinking. It is crucial for supporters of any political party to verify the information they receive and not blindly believe accusations without proper evidence.
Malema emphasised the importance of staying united and not allowing external forces to divide the EFF.
