The police in KwaZulu-Natal are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and killing of Vusumuzi “Blesser” Ndlovu, a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK).
Ndlovu, who served as the MK Party’s coordinator in eThekwini, was attacked and fatally shot on Saturday night in what appears to be a politically motivated incident.

According to reports, Ndlovu was returning from an MK Party meeting when he was ambushed by unknown gunmen in Umlazi.
Tragically, he lost his life in the parking lot of a hostel, where he was with a friend at the time of the attack. The uMkhonto weSizwe party has confirmed the death of their member and stated that five other members were injured in the shooting.
Speaking about the incident, MK spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela addressed the issue of political intolerance, emphasising the need for leaders of political parties to be mindful of their communication during such a sensitive period, particularly in the context of elections.
Ndhlela described the situation as a result of political intolerance and called for greater caution in the way political leaders express themselves.
In honour of Ndlovu, the MK Party has announced that a memorial service and funeral will be held in Nkandla.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to uncover the motives behind the attack and identify the perpetrators responsible for this tragic loss of life.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fostering a peaceful and inclusive political environment, where individuals can express their views without fear of violence or retribution.
