The Democratic Alliance (DA) announced on Wednesday that it has made the controversial ANC cadre deployment documents accessible to the public. After a three-year legal battle with the ANC, the party finally obtained the documents following a defeat at the Constitutional Court.
In a gesture of transparency, the DA has uploaded the cadre deployment minutes and documents to its website, allowing the public and the media to access crucial information.

Dr Leon Schreiber, the DA’s shadow minister for Public Service and Administration, emphasised the party’s commitment to upholding principles of public transparency. He stated that the documents would be diligently scrutinized to uncover any instances of cadre deployment corruption and a racketeering syndicate that allegedly corrupted and captured the state.
To keep the public informed, the DA has scheduled a media briefing on Friday to comprehensively unpack the documents.
During this briefing, the party will present its thorough analysis and announce significant next steps in the fight against cadre deployment corruption. The DA remains steadfast in its pursuit of accountability and integrity within the political landscape, and invites the public to stay engaged in this ongoing effort.
In response, the ANC issued a statement cautioning the DA to be aware of the POPIA Act while interrogating the documents. The DA believes that the records will demonstrate how ANC-linked cadres were given state jobs and the impact of cadre deployment on state capture.

Although the DA lost its court bid to have cadre deployment declared illegal and unlawful, Schreiber confirmed that the party would appeal the decision made by the Pretoria High Court. He highlighted the ANC’s interference in appointments across the state, including within the judiciary, and stressed the urgency of challenging a governing party that has blurred the lines between party and state.
