The Democratic Alliance (DA)’s party presidential contestant Mbali Ntuli confirmed claims that she would leave the party if her bid to take over the DA’s top job failed as pseudo attempt.
Following the audio which was leaked to EWN, she maintained that she is still consistent about DA stance.

So my townhall last night was taped and leaked. Not sure why, I've said the same thing internally as I've said externally. If there's one thing I've been consistent about is that I don't change my tune depending on the audience listening. https://t.co/6JAbvnlXVa

“So my town hall last night was taped and leaked. Not sure why, I’ve said the same thing internally as I’ve said externally.
“If there’s one thing I’ve been consistent about is that I don’t change my tune depending on the audience listening,” said Ntuli.
However, the DA WC leader Bonginkosi Madikizela has confirmed last that Ntuli was prepared for an exit after she criticised the party’s current leaders in an open letter.
SurgeZirc SA has learnt from EWN report that during internal virtual address with delegates from the Western Cape on Monday night, former youth leader clarified that she would remain a DA member.
Within 14 days Ntuli will compete against the DA’s interim leader John Steenhuisen for the party’s leadership role.
According to the leaked audio, Ntuli could be heard reiterating her views that current DA leaders suppressed dissenting voices.
“We have people, I believe, who are leaders that are able to really run rampant in terms of their beliefs, and anyone who disagrees is seen to be disgruntled and not good for the party. And for me that weakens the organisation,” she said.

Ntuli has no intention of leaving the DA, regardless of party’s electorate coming in few days.
“Whether I win or lose, I plan to be here for this entire fight because I really think it’s important,” Ntuli said.
Ntuli said if she won, one of her biggest focus areas would be to empower the party’s volunteers.
