
Hellen Zille and John Steenhuisen are at the risk of being booted out of their leadership positions when the party elect new leadership in May.
These two leaders position will be contested. The Gauteng chair Mike Moriarty has confirmed he will be challenging Zille for the position of the federal council chair.

Moriarty is already being rallied by the group that had formerly supported Maimane.
Meanwhile, the Sunday Times revealed that Steenhuisen will be challenged by Western Cape leader Bonginkosi Madikizela.
It came to light that Madikizela has approached various leaders n his province, Gauteng, the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal in order to gain support for the interim leader position.
With the two leadership position being challenged, it is expected there will be further divisions in the already strained party.
