KZN Police Arrest Two For Dundee Massacre

KwaZulu-Natal police have made a major breakthrough, arresting two suspects believed to be responsible for the horrifying murders of four people in Dundee. The deadly attack occurred on Friday evening at a home in the Mzomusha area, shocking the local community.

Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the arrests were made on Sunday night, May 25. “The two suspects who allegedly shot and killed four people at a house at Mzomusha area in Dundee were arrested by police in Dundee on Sunday night,” he said.

According to Netshiunda, a tip-off from a concerned community member led police to the suspects, who were apprehended in the Dundee CBD. The provincial organised crime unit has taken over the investigation, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.

Victims Include Teen Girl and Young Woman

The violence began outside the house, where two men, aged 31 and 35, were gunned down. The suspects then stormed inside, where a tragic sequence of events unfolded.

“It is further reported that the suspects demanded money and drugs from a 29-year-old woman,” said Netshiunda. “A scuffle reportedly ensued between one suspect and the woman, which led to her being shot multiple times.”

The suspects allegedly searched her and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. A 14-year-old girl was also shot multiple times and died at the scene. Another woman inside the house and a man who escaped after hearing the first gunshot both survived the attack without injuries.

Separate Manhunt Underway in Gauteng After Date Turns Deadly

While KZN police work to bring justice in Dundee, Gauteng authorities are on a separate manhunt for a man linked to the murder of Olorato Mongale, a 30-year-old woman from Johannesburg.

Police say Mongale was last seen on Sunday after leaving for a date with a man known only as “John” — a name believed to be an alias. He reportedly picked her up from her residential complex in a white VW Polo bearing cloned plates from a Toyota Hilux.

Tragically, Mongale’s body was discovered less than two hours later in Lombardy West with help from community members. “Mongale’s body was found at around 4:50pm in Lombardy West on Sunday afternoon by the SAPS with the assistance of community members,” confirmed police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect to come forward.
