Police Kill Four Suspects In Bronkhorstspruit Heist Shootout, Rifles And Explosives Seized

Police in Gauteng are probing several serious crimes, including attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms, after a deadly shootout in Bronkhorstspruit left four suspects dead.
According to SAPS, officers had been following intelligence about a planned heist when they intercepted a group of suspects travelling along the R25. The suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting police to return shots, killing three men at the scene.
A fourth suspect was fatally wounded in a second exchange of gunfire in the nearby Welbekend area, while another managed to escape on foot.
Police Seize Rifles, Explosives and Hijacked Vehicles
SAPS spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed that officers recovered three firearms, including two rifles, along with ammunition and a hijacked vehicle.
“Further investigation led the police to the suspects’ safe house in Dennilton in Limpopo province, where explosives and a hijacked Mercedes-Benz were recovered.

“One suspect was arrested. Police are investigating a case of attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms, amongst other crimes,” said Masondo.
Authorities are continuing their manhunt for the remaining suspect as investigations into the incident progress.
