Police Issues Public Notice On 2  Fraud Suspects Under Investigation

Police authorities in Cape Town have issued a public warning regarding two individuals, in an alleged advance fee fraud.

The two suspects, Ramona Nair and Jacqueline Verushka Joseph, are being investigated for impersonation.

The two are accused of impersonating Department of Labour officials in a Facebook groups to solicit funds from unsuspecting members of the public.

Further investigations reveal that Nair and Joseph also misrepresented themselves as private investigators and debt collectors, in violation of relevant legislation.

It is also alleged that they exploited their fake identities to take large sums of money from victims under the guise of providing services, including debt collection and investigations.

A criminal case has been opened with the South African Police Service (SAPS), and law enforcement is actively pursuing the investigation.

Authorities urge anyone who may have fallen victim to the scheme or has relevant information to come forward.
