Police In KwaZulu-Natal Neutralize Suspected Criminals Linked To ATM Bombing

In the early hours of Friday morning, police in KwaZulu-Natal engaged in a gunfight with three suspected criminals linked to an ATM bombing in Eskhaleni.
The trio, who were at their hideout, opened fire on officers when they announced their presence, leading to a fatal shootout. The police successfully neutralized the suspects, recovering two firearms from the scene.
The shootout comes less than 24 hours after police shot and killed another suspect associated with an ATM bombing at a store on Thursday. Additionally, a getaway driver was arrested in connection with the same incident.

The police’s intelligence operatives had been meticulously tracking the movements of the three suspects, who were wanted in connection with at least 10 murders across the province.
Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda confirmed that the suspects initiated the gunfight. “When the police announced their presence, the suspects opened fire, sparking a shootout which ended with the three suspects fatally wounded,” said Netshiunda.
This operation is part of a broader effort by the police to crack down on violent crime and bring those responsible to justice.
