Police Discover R100 Million Drug Lab In North West

Police have confirmed the discovery of a large-scale drug laboratory in the North West, where drugs estimated to be worth R100 million were seized on Wednesday morning.

The operation was led by Crime Intelligence at the National Head Office, which identified the suspected drug manufacturing site at Portion 45 Farm Brakspruit in Swartruggens.

National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe confirmed that officers are still processing the scene. Police said the property remains an active crime scene as investigations continue.

Crime Intelligence Leads Major Drug Bust In Swartruggens

Police said Crime Intelligence officials attached to the National Head Office were responsible for uncovering the alleged laboratory. The discovery forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on organised drug-related crime across the country.
