Pig Farm Murder Trial Resumes At Polokwane High Court

The trial of a Limpopo farmer accused of murdering two women and disposing of their bodies in a pigsty is set to continue today at the Polokwane High Court.

Zacharia Olivier is charged with two counts of murder relating to the deaths of Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu, who were allegedly shot dead in 2024.

His farm worker, William Musora, is facing a charge of defeating the ends of justice, while farm supervisor Rudolph De Wet, who was initially charged with murder, has since become a State witness.

Court Hears Details of Alleged Attempt to Conceal Evidence

During proceedings on Monday, Musora’s legal representative, Desmond Nonyane, cross-examined De Wet. The court heard De Wet testify that the bodies were thrown into a pigsty in an effort to conceal evidence.

De Wet further told the court that Musora, the third accused, was not present on the day the two women were killed.

Musora is accused of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly assisting Olivier and De Wet in disposing of the remains.

Nonyane has since concluded his cross-examination of De Wet.

The State is expected to continue its case on Tuesday by calling a forensic expert to testify.
