Pearl Thusi Roasted For Ghosting Mom After School Fees Pledge: “What A Nasty Woman”

Mzansi’s darling turned villain? Pearl Thusi has found herself in boiling water after being accused of selling a desperate mother a dream. The actress, who pledged to help with her children’s school fees last year, is now being dragged on social media for ghosting the mom and allegedly pretending she had sent the funds.
The drama began in 2024 when Pearl publicly offered her help to Siviwe Matroos, a single mother asking for assistance. Not only did Pearl make grand promises, but she also roped in her bestie DJ Zinhle to chip in. Fast forward months later, and the mother claims she hasn’t seen a cent from Pearl—or Zinhle.

To make matters worse, Siviwe says Pearl had the audacity to fake sending the funds, leaving her completely stranded. This bombshell revelation hit the timeline after Pearl vented about being cyberbullied, only to be met with the clapback of the year.“She promised heaven and delivered ghosting.”
Siviwe dropped a truth bomb, saying single mothers are on their own and shouldn’t expect anyone to save them: “The sooner you realise these are your kids, the less heartbreak when help doesn’t come.”
Mzansi wasn’t having it, and social media exploded with outrage.

Twitter Takes No Prisoners
@BaradiDardi: “It’s one thing failing to help someone after publicly offering, but stringing them along, disregarding the urgency, and pretending you’ve paid? That’s evil.”
@Ms_LebouxM: “Why publicly promise to help, only to ghost? @PearlThusi, you’re a terrible person!”
@CHIOERAYE: “She asked if the money came in knowing she sent nothing? What a nasty woman.”
@Iam_Wynona: “Defending Pearl Thusi is impossible. She always disappoints.”
@ApheleleJody: “Pearl promised to help, tagged Zinhle, and then ghosted. Nah, she’s a sick individual.”
Pearl Thusi: No Stranger to Drama
This isn’t the first time Pearl has faced public backlash. Just last week, she trended after an old video of her bullying Bonang Matheba. And let’s not forget the controversy over her recent rants about cyberbullying, which only fuelled the fire of critics.

Mzansi is divided—some are defending Pearl, saying the mom shouldn’t have relied on her promise, while others are slamming her for leading someone on.
What’s clear is that Pearl’s public image is taking a beating. Sis, maybe it’s time to lay low and do some damage control because right now, the streets are not vibing with you.
