Pearl Mbewe Says She’s Done Crying Over Sello Maake kaNcube: “My Soul Was Gone, But I Looked Good Doing It!”

Just over a year after calling it quits with veteran South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube, Pearl Mbewe is finally reclaiming her peace — and her power.

The former couple’s four-year marriage ended in a storm of public drama, media speculation, and heartbreak, but Pearl has decided to turn her pain into purpose. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, 2 November 2025, the media personality got candid about her journey of healing and rediscovery since the split.

From Turmoil to Transformation

In her emotional post, Pearl shared two photos — one of her and Sello during happier times, and another, a recent selfie radiating calm and confidence. Her caption, raw and unfiltered, revealed just how far she’s come.

“Twelve months ago, I would have written a silly and stupid caption. Maar what a ride it has been — media speculation, my career went up and down,” she wrote.

But instead of bitterness, Pearl reflected with grace and a little humour, admitting that while the past year had tested her, it also taught her something profound.

“After a while you realise that you don’t hate the person, you hated the situation. I would look at my pictures and realise that my soul was gone, but I looked good!” she confessed.

Fans flooded her comments section with love, praising her for her vulnerability and growth, with many noting how radiant she’s looked since parting ways with Sello.

Pearl Mbewe Living Her Truth

Pearl Mbewe revealed that she’s been channelling her energy into her upcoming fashion brand, Pearl MbW, set to launch later this year.

“The lesson to myself — live your truth, you are possibly an impossible woman to handle,” she said, cheekily reminding everyone that being strong doesn’t mean being soft.

She added that while she was bitter for a while, she’s now focused on living life authentically: “I was bitter for a long time, I possibly still am, but until when? Life will keep going on!”
