Man Faces Sentencing For Murder Of ‘Pastry Princess’ Thembekile Letlape

The Johannesburg High Court will today, Tuesday, 16 September 2025, hand down sentencing to Sibusiso Zitha, who was convicted of murdering his partner, celebrity chef Thembekile Letlape.
Letlape, affectionately known as the ‘Pastry Princess’, was discovered dead in her Fourways home in 2024. Her father, Dr Kgosi Letlape, found her body after she had sent a distressing message to her mother.
Guilty Plea Brings Some Closure in Thembekile Letlape Murder Trial
In July, Zitha admitted guilt, confessing that he fatally stabbed Letlape multiple times during an argument. The brutal attack unfolded in front of their then 10-year-old daughter.
The family said Zitha’s guilty plea spared them the additional trauma of a lengthy trial, even though the pain of losing Letlape remains overwhelming.
