One Arrested In Community Patrollers Killing

One suspect have been arrested following the  tragic ambush at the Marry Me informal settlement in Soshanguve, north of Tshwane, resulted in the deaths of six community patrollers.

The victims were allegedly shot by the arrested suspect and burned during a violent altercation with a group of individuals in the early hours of Saturday.

Four patrollers were killed on the scene, and two more succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Six survivors are currently receiving treatment.

Suspect Arrested, Firearm Seized

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu confirmed the arrest of one suspect, who was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The weapon seized from the arrested suspects has been sent for ballistics testing to determine its connection to the murders.

Authorities are continuing to gather evidence as they investigate the attack.

Ongoing Investigation

Gauteng police spokesperson Brig Brenda Muridili stated that the investigation is being handled by the provincial and district serious and violent crime investigation team.

Muridili disclosed that, the police are working relentlessly to ensure justice for the victims of this horrific crime.
