Olorato Mongale’s life was cut short just hours after she went on a date with a man identified only as “John.” CCTV footage showed Mongale being picked up by him in a VW Polo with cloned license plates.

The two had reportedly first met in Mongale’s hometown of Bloemfontein. The man later arranged to meet her in Johannesburg, where Mongale was pursuing a postgraduate degree at Wits University.
