Off-Duty Police Officers Involved In Verulam Crash In State Vehicle

Two off-duty SAPS police officers were involved in a collision on Todd Street in Verulam on Friday night.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene at about 10.32pm following reports of a motor vehicle accident.
The collision involved a state-owned Nissan Magnite and a Suzuki Ertiga.

Driver Says Vehicle Was Hit While Turning
According to Reaction Officers, the driver of the white Suzuki Ertiga said he was travelling along Todd Street towards the Engen service station in Brindhaven with his girlfriend when he indicated to turn right into Palm Street.
He alleged that the Nissan Magnite travelling behind them collided with the rear left side of the Suzuki, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The Nissan sustained damage to the front left side while the Suzuki suffered damage to the rear left section.
Police Officers Identified At Scene
Reaction Officers established that the two occupants of the Nissan Magnite were off-duty police officers and that the vehicle belonged to the State.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
