Nota Baloyi Hits Back At Mac G And Sol Phenduka For Mocking Him

Nota Baloyi, a man who’s never shy about voicing his opinions, recently found himself at the centre of a rather grim joke.

During an episode of Mac G’s podcast, it was revealed that Baloyi relocated to the UK due to fears for his safety after an assassination attempt. This revelation, however, prompted some less-than-sensitive reactions from the podcast’s hosts.

Mac G shared the harrowing news with his audience, only for Sol Phenduka to chime in with a rather controversial take. Sol suggested that Baloyi might have ‘earned’ the hit due to his history of disrespecting notable figures like Black Coffee and his family.

This offhand comment didn’t sit well with many, especially not with Baloyi himself.

Nota Baloyi took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his dismay. He tweeted about how surviving assassination attempts profoundly changes a person, and seeing people joke about such a serious matter only adds insult to injury.

Baloyi’s disdain was palpable as he remarked on the insensitivity of Mac G and Sol Phenduka’s comments, noting that they trivialized a genuinely life-threatening situation.

While humor can often be a coping mechanism, there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. Mocking someone’s brush with death certainly seems to fall into that category.

Baloyi’s reaction serves as a stark reminder that words can have weighty consequences, especially when dealing with matters of life and death.
