Nomzamo Mbatha ‘Speechless’ After Making 2025 Time100 Next List
South African powerhouse Nomzamo Mbatha just keeps winning! The actress, activist, and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador has been officially named in the 2025 Time100 Next list, under the “Advocates” category.
This recognition comes only months after she was celebrated at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where she was honored among the Top 100 Women in Cinema worldwide.
From Hollywood To Humanitarian Work
Time praised Mbatha for not only her star power on screen but also her life-changing activism.
“From field missions in Malawi, Kenya, and South Sudan with UNHCR, which led to her appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador in 2019, to global platforms like TEDx Kakuma, she has amplified refugee voices with empathy and courage.
“Onscreen, she has brought African narratives to the world, from the comedy Coming 2 America to Shaka iLembe, the critically acclaimed historical epic where she also serves as executive producer. Nomzamo has proved she doesn’t just use her platform. She is the walking manifestation of it,” Time100 Next stated.
