We’ve always known that it was just a matter of time before Nomzamo Mbatha leaves the popular soapy Isibaya.

The actress who portrays Thandeka Ndlovu on Isibaya moved to Los Angeles in North America a year ago but because she was one of the most loved characters in the soapie she couldn’t resign.

Nomzamo had formally tendered resignation in 2018 but the writers and producers of the soapie didn’t budge. I guess that’s how much we as fans loved her. The love fans have for her goes without an explanation as she’s been part of the daily soapie for seven years.

However, if you a fan we’ve got sad news for you Thandeka Ndlovu will be killed in March and that will be the end of seeing your favourite on Isibaya. Let me give you a few more details that might interest you.

A source has revealed that Thandeka and her husband Sbu – played by Sdumo Mtshali – will be attacked by armed criminals.

“Sbu is going to survive [the shooting], but sadly Thandeka is going to die,” said the source.

Whilst another said: “For the longest time, it became tricky and difficult to write her off because she is the show’s darling. They did their best to keep her in the storyline. They even made arrangements to work around her schedule after she relocated to Los Angeles in the US.”

The source said whenever Nomzamo was in the country they would shoot more scenes and bank them.

“Even though they were working around her schedule, it was no longer viable for both her and the production team. Eventually, they came to the conclusion to kill off her character,” added the source.

Nomzamo recently visited the country and she was appointed as Cotton On Foundation Ambassador. Not only that her Lighthouse Foundation donated more than R1 million in bursaries.
