Nomzamo Mbatha Demands Arrest As ‘Baby Sis’ Fights For Life In ICU After Brutal Domestic Violence Ordeal

Nomzamo Mbatha Demands Arrest As ‘Baby Sis’ Fights For Life In ICU After Brutal Domestic Violence Ordeal

Just when we thought the conversation around protecting women couldn’t get louder, a heartbreaking story has set social media on fire — and it’s got Nomzamo Mbatha seeing red.

Gender-based violence is being called a pandemic for a reason. Every single day, women’s lives are being shattered behind closed doors, despite marches, movements and viral campaigns. And now, one of the most chilling cases yet is unfolding in real time.

The Purple Movement vs Reality: Gender-Based Violence Still Winning?

In November 2025, Women for Change SA launched The Purple Movement, urging women to “silence the nation” on Friday, 21 November. Paid work, unpaid labour, EVERYTHING paused — all to demand action against gender-based violence.

Celebrities turned their profiles purple. Feeds were flooded with solidarity posts. The message was loud.

But fast-forward to now, and women are still not safe.

One name dominating timelines is Snenhlanhla “Sne” Nenezane Mthembu, a Durban-based celebrity hairstylist who is currently fighting for her life in ICU after suffering severe burn wounds to her face and body.

“My Blood Is Boiling”: Nomzamo Mbatha Goes OFF

Sne’s story reached many hearts — but none louder than Nomzamo Mbatha, who describes her as a “baby sis.” Taking to social media, the award-winning actress and activist didn’t mince her words.

“My blood is boiling. My heart is broken. And I am LIVID. As we speak she is currently in ICU with burn wounds on her face and body attained from trying to FIGHT for her freedom from this CRIMINAL.”

Nomzamo went on to publicly demand immediate action, tagging @SAPoliceService_ZA and urging followers to apply pressure until an arrest is made.

Online reports and claims circulating on social media allege that Sne had been enduring abuse for months, and that she has opened multiple cases against her boyfriend, identified online as Andile Junior. These claims further allege repeated failures in accountability — including accusations that previous cases stalled. The latest case number reportedly shared online is 191/1/2026.

SA Reacts: “How Many More?”

As expected, the comments section is in chaos. Some are demanding names and arrests. Others are questioning how many cases it takes before justice actually shows up. And many are asking the hardest question of all:

How many women have to almost die before the system works?

This story isn’t just trending — it’s exposing the cracks, the silence, and the fear so many women live with daily.

We’re watching. South Africa is watching. And the pressure? It’s only getting louder.
