Ex-Idols Star Noma Khumalo Accused Of Plotting Lover’s Murder

Former Idols SA contestant Nomalungelo Noxolo Khumalo known as Noma Khumalo is at the centre of a storm after her ex-fiancé, Ntando Mkhulise, filed explosive complaints accusing her of everything from assault to an alleged attempted hit on his life — while claiming police have repeatedly looked the other way.
According to Sunday World, what began as a whirlwind romance in June last year spiralled into pure horror.
“By December we were engaged… then everything fell apart”
Mkhulise says the relationship fast-tracked from dating to living together after Khumalo moved in while unemployed. But by the end of the year, the fairytale had curdled.
Small arguments allegedly turned into violent confrontations — and then, according to Mkhulise, things went completely off the rails.

He claims a heated argument in March escalated into a full-on attack.
“She stabbed me in the chest and arm, burnt my clothes, damaged my car and took my wallet with my bank cards and ID.”
The next day, Khumalo allegedly opened a case against him — and he ended up behind bars.
He says that once out on bail, he discovered another shock: furniture missing from his business premises, allegedly taken by Khumalo.
Despite submitting photographs and evidence, he insists police showed no interest.
“Your ex sent us to kill you” — The alleged hit that shook Noma Khumalo’s Ex
Weeks later, the situation allegedly reached deadly proportions.
Mkhulise describes approaching a suspicious car outside his home — only to be confronted by two men who claimed they had been following him for weeks.
According to an audio recording, the men told him: “We’ve been sent by your girlfriend to kill you. She said you fought with her and now she wants you dead.”

Mkhulise says he handed both the recording and a detailed statement to police — only for officers to allegedly tear up his report and dismiss him.
He says he has opened multiple cases, including theft, GBH and malicious damage to property, yet nothing has moved forward.
He believes the alleged inaction is connected to Khumalo’s father — a magistrate — and says he has even received threatening WhatsApp messages from her siblings predicting court outcomes before they happened.
One message warned him bluntly:
“Be ready for tomorrow. You’re going to prison — my dad made sure of it.”
“I don’t feel safe” — and then he is shot
Feeling cornered and desperate, Mkhulise escalated the matter to the Portfolio Committees on Police and Justice.
But less than 24 hours later, tragedy struck.
On the morning of 11 November, he says a bakkie pulled up outside his home and opened fire. He was shot in the leg and is now in ICU.
“I managed to run inside before collapsing. I don’t know what to do anymore — none of my cases have ever been attended to.”
Sunday World revealed that, Khumalo’s legal representative, Mhleli Mhlaba, is now threatening legal action to stop the story from being publicised.
“This is a domestic violence matter. The media must back off or there will be consequences.”
The Portfolio Committee confirmed that Mkhulise’s complaint has been received and referred to the Magistrate Commission.
KZN police say they will respond — “but not now.”
