Nine-Year-Old Boys Caught In Home Break-In Spree In Hazelmere

Four boys, all around nine years old, were caught breaking into homes and businesses in Hazelmere, KwaZulu-Natal. A female resident raised the alarm on Thursday morning after she discovered the children forcing their way into her property.

She quickly alerted local authorities, who brought the boys in for questioning.

Following interviews with residents, investigators established that the boys were linked to several break-ins targeting tuckshops and private homes. Items such as phones, sports shoes, electronics, cash, and other valuables had been stolen over recent weeks.

“The community has suffered multiple forced entries, and these incidents have left people deeply unsettled,” said a resident spokesperson.

Boys Admit to Selling Stolen Items Locally

During questioning, the suspects admitted to selling the stolen goods to people within the community. Each blamed the other for the crimes, but officers confirmed a clear connection between the group and the thefts.
