Nigerian National Arrested In Limpopo For Drugs Worth R45,000

A 39-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested after police discovered drugs valued at approximately R45,000 during an intelligence-driven operation in Elim, Limpopo.

Detectives from Makhado and Waterval acted swiftly on information about suspected drug activity in the area on Monday, 22 September 2025. Officers moved in and apprehended the suspect before he could evade arrest.

Drugs and Equipment Seized

During the bust, police confiscated nyaope, crystal meth, and CAT, along with two machine scales believed to have been used for packaging the illicit substances. The street value of the seized items was estimated at R45,000.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Waterval Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 25 September 2025, where he will face charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

Police on Drug Trade

Authorities said the bust marks a significant step in disrupting the supply of dangerous substances in the Vhembe District, and urged communities to continue sharing tip-offs to help combat the drug trade.
