In a shocking incident that unfolded in the earlier hours of this morning, gunmen opened fire on Joburg Metro Police officers in Mooi Street, Johannesburg.
The officers were engaged by multiple armed individuals, commonly referred to as “tango’s” in law enforcement terminology.

In a CCTV footage that has gone viral on social media, a taxi can be seen making a stop at a filling station. Suddenly, several men exit the taxi, with one visibly tucking something into his waistband.
Without warning, one of the individuals drops to the ground and begins firing at a Metro Police car that was about to enter the filling station.
The three officers inside the car quickly react to the gunfire and, realizing the imminent danger, abandon their vehicle and run for cover. Unfortunately, one officer was shot during the incident.
This alarming incident has sparked concerns about the safety of law enforcement officers in the line of duty. The bravery displayed by these officers as they ran for their lives highlights the risks they face daily while serving and protecting the community.
