Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a medical doctor in Dobsonville. The doctor was shot and killed during a robbery at his surgery in Soweto in February.
According to police spokesperson Brenda Muridili, three suspects entered the surgery, claiming that one of them was not feeling well.

Once inside the consulting room, gunshots were heard, and the suspects fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. The doctor was rushed to a local clinic with gunshot wounds but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The pair was arrested in Alexandra on Thursday. During the arrest, two unlicensed firearms were seized, along with some of the victim’s belongings.
The suspects allege that a third accomplice was shot by the doctor during the robbery and died in the getaway car. They claim to have dumped his body and informed his family of its location before setting the stolen car on fire.
The suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of murder and robbery.
