Yesterday, police arrested two grandsons and a friend in connection with a shocking crime in Ezinkampini Loc, Cumakala Administrative Area, outside Lady Frere. The arrests come after the disappearance of their 71-year-old grandmother on Friday, April 12, 2024.
A search conducted by both the police and community members yielded no positive results. However, yesterday afternoon, police were called to a scene where they discovered the body of a woman buried in a shallow grave in her own garden.

Following a thorough investigation, the police were able to link the crime to the two grandsons and their friend, all aged between 21 and 27 years. The trio has been arrested on charges of murder and robbery.
As of now, the investigation is still ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing. The three suspects are scheduled to appear at the Lady Frere Magistrate Court tomorrow, April 15, 2024.
