A sinkhole incident in the west of Durban has resulted in a family of four sustaining injuries.
The incident took place at around 7 am on Tuesday at the intersection of Main and Ridley Park Rd in Malvern, KwaZulu-Natal. ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, reported that ALS Paramedics responded to the fourth incident involving a sinkhole on Main Road.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered that a local touring operator had already rescued the family of four from the water.
The vehicle had submerged its nose first into the sinkhole. Paramedics assessed the situation and determined that the occupants, two adults and two children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the crash and water inhalation.
ALS Paramedics provided immediate treatment on the scene before transporting the family to the hospital for further care. Jamieson also mentioned that other officials, including Metro Police and Saps, were present at the site. He urged all motorists to avoid the intersection due to the recurring sinkhole incidents.
