In a startling turn of events at Brits Mall, Reborn Chiloane, a 31-year-old shop manager, and Regomoditswe Mmethi, a 29-year-old shop employee, are set to appear before the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
They are implicated in a business robbery that took place at their place of employment. According to North West police, both suspects had already appeared in court last Wednesday in connection with the robbery.

On Monday, July 29, at about 8 a.m., the shop had just opened and employees were still entering the premises when two armed suspects stormed in.
North West police spokesperson, Colonel Adéle Myburgh reported that the employees were threatened with firearms and coerced to hand over money. The robbers also seized cellular phones and laptops before making their escape.
Following a prompt investigation, Chiloane and Mmethi were arrested on Wednesday, August 7, based on operationalized information received by the police. During the arrests, law enforcement seized eight stolen cellular phones and two laptops.
Further investigative efforts led to the apprehension of a third suspect, aged 35, on Thursday, August 8.

The suspect trio will face charges of business robbery before the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 12. Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, the provincial police commissioner in North West, praised the Brits detectives for their swift and effective action.
He stressed that law enforcement authorities would continue working diligently to ensure that criminals are brought to justice.
