In a commendable display of swift action, the Mpumalanga police recently rescued two individuals who were hijacked and kidnapped near Hazyview. The incident occurred after a meeting on Workers’ Day at a primary school in Nyongane.

As others gathered to assist, three armed assailants seized the opportunity and held them at gunpoint at approximately 5:40 pm.

The assailants then forced two individuals into the trunks of two VW Polos and fled the scene. However, the police were able to locate the victims later that night, unharmed. The two vehicles used in the crime were found abandoned.

Currently, the police are actively pursuing the suspects involved in this heinous act. Authorities urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of the assailants to contact the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or provide information via the MySAPSApp. All information received will be treated as confidential, and callers have the option to remain anonymous.
