An off-duty police officer and his girlfriend lost their lives in a shooting incident that occurred outside a restaurant in Durban, Florida, during the early hours of Tuesday.
According to KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the tragic event is now under investigation by Berea police, focusing on cases of murder and attempted murder.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the suspect, identified as an off-duty police officer, approached his girlfriend at her workplace. After a brief interaction, he drew his service pistol and fired multiple shots at her.
The victim attempted to flee back into the restaurant, but the officer pursued her, continuing to shoot until she was ultimately declared dead at the scene.
