
The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Braamfontein will be facing a temporary closure for maintenance purposes, Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) informed motorists in the Joburg CBD.
The maintenance and cleaning activities will be carried out from Tuesday to Thursday, between 09:00 and 15:00.

Xolani Fihla, the spokesperson for the Joburg metro police, has stated that this work will have an impact on traffic traveling between Braamfontein and Newtown.
During this period, the bridge will only be accessible to pedestrians, and vehicular traffic will be prohibited at the intersections of Bertha Street, Ntemi Piliso Street, and Carr Street.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and to exercise patience during the closure.
