A 29-year-old Mozambican national is set to appear in the Oberholzer Magistrate’s Court concerning the heart-wrenching case of kidnapping and murder involving 26-year-old Nomsa Jas.
Jas went missing after leaving her workplace at Dischem in Potchefstroom on 26 August 2023. Her disappearance sent shockwaves through the community, prompting extensive search efforts and widespread appeals for information.
After a two-week search, the tragic conclusion came when the police uncovered the partially decomposed body of Nomsa Jas in bushes along the R501 road in Carletonville. This discovery was made on 8 September, leading to the suspect’s swift arrest.
