Missing Person Alert: Kwazulu-Natal Man With Head Injury Disappears During Hospital Visit

The family claimed that Gumbi had been dropped off at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon following a fall that resulted in a head injury, compounded by complaints of chest pains.

A troubling incident has unfolded in Kwazulu-Natal, where a man named Lucky Nhlanhla Gumbi has gone missing.

The 39-year-old was reportedly rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Phoenix after sustaining a head injury, only for his family to find no trace of him upon their arrival.

According to a statement released by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), Gumbi’s family approached their offices on Thursday seeking assistance in locating him.

The family claimed that Gumbi had been dropped off at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon following a fall that resulted in a head injury, compounded by complaints of chest pains.

Upon arriving at the hospital at 6:05 PM on Wednesday, the family could not locate Gumbi and believed he had been admitted.

Subsequent enquiries at the hospital revealed CCTV footage showing Gumbi walking out of the facility at approximately 6 PM. Since then, he has not been seen or heard from. It remains unclear whether he was ever formally admitted as a patient at the hospital.

At the time of his disappearance, Gumbi was wearing a grey t-shirt, dark green jacket, blue jeans, and grey flip-flops with white socks.

He is described as tall, slightly overweight, dark in complexion with a white beard, and having a single silver tooth. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact RUSA at 0861234333, his friend Phumlani Ndlovu at 0789825144, or his sister Thembile Gumbi at 0685534608.
