An illegal Swaziland national, Skhumbuza Dlamini (32), and Sizwe Nkosi (30) appeared at the Vereeniging Regional Court, facing serious charges of murder, kidnapping, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Nkosi also faces additional charges of possession of an unlawful firearm and possession of unlawful ammunition. Dlamini, on the other hand, faces an additional charge of being in the country illegally.

The alleged incident took place on 12 February 2024 when Andriaan Theunis van Lingen (64) left his home in Moreleta Park, Pretoria, to attend a meeting in Olifantsfontein.
Tragically, he was kidnapped during his journey, and an amount of R500,000 was transferred from his account to an unknown one. Later that day, an additional R200,000 and R250,000 were transferred to a car dealership.
Furthermore, the deceased’s bank card was used to make a purchase of R2000 at a tavern in Thembisa.
Concerned about his sudden disappearance, the family reported him missing to the police. Subsequently, the South African Police Service (SAPS) launched an investigation, leading to the discovery of the deceased’s body at Klipriver on 13 February 2023.

Additionally, his Ford Ranger bakkie was found burnt on a plot in De Duer, along with two unidentified vehicles.
The two accused individuals were arrested after being linked to the purchase made at the tavern. The matter has been postponed to 20 February 2023 to allow for legal representation, and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has expressed its intention to oppose bail in this case.
