A 23-year-old man was arrested after Mankweng police discovered some of the cash taken from his dead grandma hidden in his room. The 90-year-old grandmother had been saving money from her monthly social payments.
The weapon used to stab her was discovered inside a pit toilet in a neighbouring tavern, according to Limpopo police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba.

A relative discovered the dead woman’s body at her home in Ramogale village on Tuesday. The grandson, who had lived with her, was arrested on Wednesday.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in Mankweng magistrate’s court on Thursday to face murder and robbery charges.
