BRICS Chairperson President Cyril Ramaphosa publicly announced the accession of Argentina, Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates into the BRICS group during the 15th BRICS Summit outcomes presentation on Thursday.

According to Ramaphosa, the Summit will focus on the BRICS’ ability to benefit communities and address Global South concerns.

The BRICS invites Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to become full members from January 1, 2024, while also expressing openness to partnerships with other countries, particularly those in the developing world.
