Limpopo, South Africa – In a recent raid, law enforcement agencies uncovered a suspected firearm training facility in Modimolle.

The operation, led by the Hawks, resulted in the seizure of several firearms and ammunition. Acting on a tip-off, the raid aimed to investigate the nature of activities conducted at the site.

Among the items seized were licensed rifles, pistols, and a significant amount of ammunition.

Hawks spokesperson Lethunya Mmuroa stated that the exact purpose of the training remains unclear, but the possibility of military-related activities cannot be ruled out. Investigation is ongoing to determine how these firearms and ammunition arrived at the facility.

This discovery comes only weeks after the uncovering of another military training base in White River, Mpumalanga.

In that operation, police arrested ninety-five Libyan nationals and confirmed that the camp was operating illegally. The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority also confirmed the illicit nature of the training provided there.

While no arrests have been made in the Limpopo case, investigations continue to unravel the full extent of the activities and individuals involved.
